As Dilbert has so succintly put it, its good forum etiquette to introduce yourself.

Am 48, returned to riding bikes after a 25 year odd layoff, never quite got my test all those years ago, so recently went through the DAS route to get a full Licence (less said about what happened on my first test the better).

Live near Macclesfield, have done for the last 20 odd years or so

Have bought a Versys, one of the recognised fast ones (Orange, natch), although its nowhere near as fast with me on it being 6'4", and lets be charitable 'chunky' with it. Ive been out on a couple of runs with the Versys crowd, although to be fair after the first two ride out mob seems more appropriate then crowd. Looking forward to doing more rides, and not just with the Versys crowd. Breifly met up with a few of you on Dilberts Buxton and Beyond 'tour', although whether the beyond bit was beyond the cloud layer or Buxton I never quite found out

I still haven't go over the ear to ear grin that getting back on a back brings to me. Im assuming that's normal for most riders, and that's why they wear full face helmets to hide the inane grin and confound other peoples perceptions that riding is baaad. oddly enough all those Harley riders with their open face helmets always look as if they've swallowed a lemon (not just bought one), they mustn't enjoy being out on the road....

So is that enough of a potted history then Dilbert?

Mind you I'm perplexed as to how Dilbert knows what is good etiquette or not is a mystery to me  Grin

More than enough, there's no shutting you up once you get going, mind you most of the guys on here would have just told me to "go away and mind my own business"  Grin

Welcome healdem - nice to see you on here. This is the site we turn to when we get pissed-off with someone on the Versys forum. Oh, and by the way, swearing is mandatory on this site. Tongue
